Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
So, what’s the catch?
No catch here! We simply want our community to have easy access to naloxone. Sure, our “Naloxone Now containers” might have a fancy name, but they’re not exactly high-tech—they’re just plastic or metal boxes with:
- nice paint jobs (kudos to our Director of Peer Support and partners);
- non-locking doors;
- instructions on the side; and
- naloxone on the inside!
As such, we do not collect your personal information. We only track how much naloxone goes in and out of each box on a regular basis, so feel free to take as many boxes of naloxone as you would like!
Where does CCODP get its naloxone?
We order naloxone through the Naloxone Distribution Project (NDP), a wonderful Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) program which aims to combat opioid overdose deaths by shipping free naloxone in bulk to eligible organizations.
On that topic, we provide free technical assistance to any organizations who would like to become NDP distributors! Feel free to request our help at contact@ccodp.org.
Who owns Naloxone Now containers?
We work with local organizations and agencies to install Naloxone Now containers (usually on the partner’s property). The partner owns and stocks their container(s).
